CH Mainelanders Cupid PP aka 'Arrow'
Arrow is the son of our lovely imported German girl, Ally and Spider, our stunning black ex-stud boy and is a wonderful rich red colour. Despite the stripes you can see in his coat, he is actually a solid red and not a tabby. Both his parents are solid so he cannot be a tabby. He is a 4wd polydactyl with big rounded poly feet and excellent boning and body length. Born on Valentines Day, he's very much a lover boy with us.
Whilst he doesn't have the biggest ears in the world, their shape and set is sound and his muzzle is one of the best Mainelanders has produced, square, even and expressive. Arrow is a very sweet loving boy who loves to hang out on my lap, purring and kneading and he will without doubt pass this on to his babies. He's sired 1 litter of kittens already and hopefully another with Kassie in the near future.
Arrow has attended a few shows as a kitten and young adult and enjoyed good success including Best in Shows and Breeders Awards of Merit.

TICA Champion and BrDblGrCH Tabula Rasa Owen (imp Ned)
We are very excited to welcome Owen to the Mainelanders family who is co-owned with Vicki Walls from Vladimir Maine Coons and bred by Nayomi Franken in the Netherlands. In 2017, Jo was thrilled to win a free trip to the World Cat Show in The Hague and was able to take Vicki along as her +1. Nayomi kindly invited us to come and visit her and meet Owen as a 4 month old baby. We fell in love immediately and 6 months later, he arrived in New Zealand.
Owen brings the old school American type to our lines with exceptional strong boning, solid rectangular body and an epic tail that goes on forever. His head type is exactly what we like in a Maine Coon, boxy muzzle, square head, alert good sized ears without being extreme and an open friendly expression. This guy is a complete sooky-nana and LOVES to be cuddled. From the moment we met him again in quarantine, he was desperate to head butt, purr, dribble, forward roll on to our laps and just generally be a clumsy clown! All the traits we simply adore in a Maine Coon. We are also very proud of his strong American lines in his pedigree and that he came over already a TICA Champion following show success in limited outings in Europe. At shows he has performed exceptionally well in his first season in NZ, ending the season after only 6 shows and earning a total of 11 Breeders Awards of Merit, 12 Best In Shows, numerous Best Groomed and Best Temperament awards and 3 x People's Choice Awards (out of all cats entered, not just Long Hair Entires) and our proudest moment of the year was Best In Show and BAM in the National Ring at the 2018 National Cat Show held in Wellington. He was shortlisted for the Supreme LH at the Nationals as well. He also was crowned Cat of the Year at the Pedigree Persian Cat Show in July and got to wear a Crown and Gown for the photos!
After a slow start, he has finally worked out what bit goes where and has a litter of kittens on the way! We are very excited to see what he will produce but regardless am enjoying every second of being owned and loved by such a wonderful boy.
Owen has had his heart scanned by Dr Richard Lucy with no sign of HCM.
